Public Project Sharing
Share your projects with anyone using public share links
What is Public Sharing?
Public sharing allows you to create shareable links that let anyone view your project without needing a Currently account. This is perfect for sharing project status with external stakeholders, clients, or potential collaborators. Public viewers can see project information but cannot edit or make changes.
Enabling Public Sharing
Open Project Settings
Navigate to the project you want to share and go to the Settings tab. Only project owners can enable public sharing.
Find Sharing Section
Scroll to the "Public Sharing" section in project settings. You'll see options to enable or disable public sharing.
Enable Public Sharing
Toggle the "Enable Public Sharing" switch. A unique share token will be automatically generated for your project.
Copy Share Link
Once enabled, you'll see the public share link. Click "Copy Link" to copy it to your clipboard, or click the external link icon to open it in a new tab.
What's Visible in Public View
Public viewers can see the following project information:
Project Overview
Project name, description, emoji, priority, status, and progress
AI Briefing
The AI-generated project briefing with current status, blockers, and suggested next steps
Context Updates
Recent context updates and project activity timeline
Team Members
Names and roles of team members working on the project
Organization Info
Organization name and basic information
What's Protected
Public viewers cannot access or modify:
Editing Capabilities
Public viewers can only view the project. They cannot create updates, add resources, or modify any project settings.
Sensitive Resources
Some project resources may be hidden from public view for security reasons.
Internal Comments
Internal project notes and sensitive information are not visible to public viewers.
Managing Share Links
Copying the Link
Click "Copy Link" in the Public Sharing settings to copy the share URL to your clipboard. Share this link with anyone you want to give access to.
Regenerating the Token
If you need to revoke access, click "Regenerate Token". This creates a new share link and invalidates the old one. Anyone using the old link will no longer be able to access the project.
Disabling Public Sharing
Toggle off "Enable Public Sharing" to make the project private again. The share link will stop working, but the token is preserved in case you want to re-enable sharing later.
Security Considerations
Share Links are Public
Anyone with the share link can view your project. Only share links with people you trust. Treat share links like passwords—don't post them publicly unless you want the project to be publicly accessible.
Regenerate When Needed
If a share link is accidentally shared publicly or you want to revoke access, regenerate the token immediately. This invalidates the old link.
Review Project Content
Before enabling public sharing, review your project to ensure it doesn't contain sensitive information that shouldn't be publicly visible.
Best Practices
- •Use public sharing to showcase project progress to stakeholders or clients
- •Share links via secure channels (email, private messages) rather than public forums
- •Regularly review who has access by checking if you need to regenerate tokens
- •Disable public sharing when a project is complete or no longer needs external visibility
- •Use public sharing as a way to onboard potential collaborators or showcase your work
